BIOGRAPHY:
Since graduating from RMIT Media Arts
with honours, award winning feminist erotic filmmaker, Anna Brownfield,
has gained extensive media attention for the originality of her
work and she has appeared on ABC TV's 'Mondo Thingo', and
'The 10.30 Slot', JJJ, SBS, RRR, Triple MMM and ABC radio.
Articles about her work have appeared in The Bulletin,
Cleo, Cosmo, IF magazine, Desktop
magazine, The Age, The Sydney Morning Herald, and
numerous street press publications.
Her work
has screened at numerous festivals, both here and overseas, including
the International Women's Conference 1995 (Beijing), WOW Film
Festival (Sydney), Westspace Artist's Gallery (Melbourne), Artrage
(Perth) and elsewhere.
Her film The Money Shot was chosen to close the Melbourne
Underground Film Festival (MUFF) in 2005. She cleaned up the MUFF
awards winning Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Male Lead.

Since then, she has made two more features, The Band (2006) and The Bedroom (2016).
CRITICAL
OVERVIEW:
Anna Brownfield's work deals with
the issue of male and female gazes, sexuality and sensuality,
pushing the boundaries and redefining the depiction of sex and
nudity in cinema.
Coming from an experimental and art film background,
she has progressively moved more and more into narrative film,
while retaining a unique and highly arresting style.
