2005 - Saloni M presents The Shades of Love Anthea
Sidiropoulos Diverse Singer/Songwriter/Performer Anthea Sidiropoulos has participated in a range of arts projects including tribute shows (Pearl The Ultimate Janis Joplin Show) and original works (Anthea’s Diary/Loukoumi) for music festivals, concerts, poetry readings, thematic and multi media events. Her one woman show ‘Anthea’s Diary’ won her a nomination for best performance at Melbourne Fringe Festival 2003 and her inclusion in Arnold Zable’s musical companion CD to his book of the same name, won them ‘Best Folk release’ for 2004.
Anthea is sought after for her vocal ability spanning through various musical genres of rock, blues and soul, to Traditional Greek Blues (Rembetika), Greek love songs (Kantathes) the '60s & '70s ‘new wave’ and ‘entekno' ~ ‘Folk-Art/Alternative music’ of Greece. Anthea has been a vocalist for numerous bands, collaborated with many significant figures/composers in the music industry and received extensive vocal training from the more reputable institutions and vocalists in Australia including Vanetta Fields, Bettine McCorn at Melba Conservatorium of Music and composing and arranging with Joe Paparone at Eastern Hill Conservatorium. Anthea’s diverse vocal ability has taken her to music festivals throughout the country - The National Folk Festival, Sydney Greek Festival, Darwin Glendi Festival, Cygnet Festival Tasmania as well as being an established artist in her home town of Melbourne: The Fringe Festival, Antipodes Festival, events produced by Multicultural Arts Victoria, The World Music Boite and performing at many festivals within the Melbourne Metropolitan area. This is Anthea’s second year with Saloni M. She will showcase her voice, presence and music, and create a performance with depth, passion and truth for the shades of love theme. She will be collaborating with the Kurdish communities of Melbourne to present a unique theatrical performance of Kurdish poetry and folk songs. Check
