Grant Meredith
b. August 9, 1971, Melbourne, Australia.

BIOGRAPHY:   Grant Meredith decided one day back in 1994 that he wanted to be a filmmaker and so went out and bought a simple Sony handy cam. Soon after he went out and bought an editing board and sound mixing gear and went straight about making a short series of animated productions including the Robot of Power (1996) saga.

Realising that animation was too restrictive and limited for his scope of imagination Grant went about experimenting with film and by 2000 had produced some funny and innovative little films including The UDD Conspiracy (later retitled The Winter of the UDDS), The Curse of the Weremoose and 2 short sword fighting films.

Then riding on the successful showing of the comical Mixo Joe vs. the Dragon in the 1999 7MAX Film Festival, Grant decided to focus more on his art and shot the epic UDDS Armageddon, the second instalment of the UDD saga. This was successfully shown in festivals here in Australia and overseas in the Italian Alternative Film Festival. Since then Grant has produced Dark Prophecy, Dangerous Dan Jones, The I-Team: Project FUBAR and the epic UDDS X, all with his trademark "homemade" style. Currently in a slight down period due to career commitments beyond filming he is planning many more and bigger projects for the future including a CGI ridden sci-fi epic.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Grant Meredith is seemingly inactive since the above was written (2009), his website at a standstill from that time. - Bill Mousoulis, December 2017.

Udds Armageddon

CRITICAL OVERVIEW:   I am a filmmaker with my own style and damn proud of it. I like to show the viewer what can be done with the least amount of money possible. I have experimented with my own style of special effects and stunts for many years now and they are really reflected in my work. I pride myself on doing my own stunt work and as much of the total production as possible. I like to open the viewer's eyes up to a very fresh and honest style of filmmaking. To make them think and look for little hidden messages and signals in my work. I aim to take the viewer on a little dream journey of make-believe when they watch my short films.

Udds Armageddon tells the story of the world at crisis with a huge genetically altered threat. All that is very relevant to us here today. Though comical I do consider my work very seriously. I have grouped a large team behind my production company in recent years and I/we are continuing to grow with each film. As I like to say, "My style is my style, not yours" and when questioned why did you make this film the simple answer is "Because I can". I think that I am a Funniest Home Video Show gone mad, and I love it. I turn the viewer's head and make them take notice with my work. I do not prioritise entering into festivals at all, if one catches my eye I will look into it. I have a very successful filmmaking website and forum, and enjoy helping filmmakers the world over.
